I remember, it was Saturday at the night and me, with my old friends, went to visit Carlos, who is one of my oldest friends, at his job. He’s job was in a rest bar in Monjitas street, near Matte Palace. We bought some “ron colas” and sang karaoke for a long time. It was time to go to the disco, so we left the rest bar and we went to Bellavista neighborhood. We found a place (I don’t remember the name, actually), and we danced with some girls. Suddenly, the earthquake started, but pretty soft, so I waited for it to stop, but it didn’t, the light turned off and everybody got panic, it was terrible. But my reaction was so quiet and I stayed near the bar, because I know that in the earthquake case, running is wrong because you can cause an accident. When the earthquake stopped, we went to our houses in Felipe’s car.
I wanted to help, but my family didn’t let me go to the south to build houses because they thought that it was too dangerous. So I donated some money to “Chile ayuda a Chile”, and I played rugby with my team for charity to the people affected by the earthquake.
I don’t know if I learnt something with this experience, but I know that Chile can stand up after the disaster.
